Paradox of Leadership

Leadership in today’s business environment is more challenging and complex than ever.

In the traditional management paradigm, top management strategized, and managers oversaw execution through people who followed. The focus of decision-making continues to move down organizations as they strive to get closer and more responsive to the customer. Now, managers have to lead as well as manage people who won’t follow unless they have a stake.

Leadership Managers must lead their teams into the future and manage day-to-day profitability at the same time. This is a delicate balancing act.

Is your team having these conversations?  How so? And what is the output?

Try this: Put this chart up at your next leadership meeting   Ask, what do you see?

What do we need to do more of, less of, differently?
